Under the direction and supervision of the Compliance and Enforcement Manager, the incumbent is responsible for enforcing Municipal Laws such as (but not limited to) the Town and Country Planning Act, Town Nuisance Prevention Act, Parochial Markets Act, Licenses on Trade and Businesses Act and Road Traffic Act.
Qualifications/Experience:
Four (4) CXC subjects including Mathematics and English Language.
Knowledge of the various Acts that governs the Portmore Municipal Council would be an asset.
Summary of Duties:
Execute Levy Writs and Summonses in association with representatives of the Tax Administration Jamaica
Enforce municipal regulations
Visiting businesses to ascertain if they are licensed;
Serving reminders and summonses.
Ensuring that vendors are operating within the confines of the market;
Enforcing action re: non-payment of fees;
Salary Range: $745,250.00 - $842,182.00.00
