Parochial Road Maintenance

This encompasses the general maintenance of the parochial road network. These include:

  1. Rehabilitation of existing parochial roads including effecting repairs / patching of damaged parochial roadways
  2. Construction of new and existing retaining structures i.e. gabion baskets, dry and wet pack walls etc.

Funds used to affect these works are generated from motor vehicle and land tax revenue etc. which are paid to Government at your local tax office. A fraction of this revenue is returned to the Council as the Parochial Revenue Fund (P.R.F.). These funds are used for the maintenance of parochial roadways by the Parish Council through your local Councilors and executed by the Roads and Works Department.
